Auschwitz: Children of Jacob – Zikaron
A Non-commercial Memorial Painting Cycle by Marek Hausmann
This cycle constitutes a dedicated artistic act of remembrance (Zikaron), developed from fragmented archival photographs and historical camp documentation. It seeks to restore individual dignity, personal identity, and painterly presence to the youngest victims of the Auschwitz-Birkenau concentration and extermination camp.
Through the medium of oil on linen, the project bridges archival erasure and living memory—transforming degraded, dehumanizing identification portraits into monumental painterly testimonies.
